Haflinger

Haflinger, although officially founded in 1988, is a family business with roots stretching back as far as 1898 in Goslar, Germany. The current managing director’s great-grandfather was a textile maker known for his trimmings and cords, who shifted to high quality wool yarns and socks, and then to wool and leather “hut shoes” designed for ski lodges. These hut shoes would transition to the German slippers that eventually launched the Haflinger brand. The slippers are known for their high quality natural wool uppers, sturdy soles, and anatomically sculpted supportive footbeds. The family named the brand after the Haflinger horse for its “grace and aesthetics, combined with powerful endurance and longevity,” as well as “original naturalness, surefootedness and good, faithful character.”
