G.H. Bass

G.H. Bass is an iconic American heritage footwear brand, founded in Maine in 1876. They are best known for their popularization of moccasin toe work and dress wear and of course, the penny loafer. In fact, G.H. Bass is credited with the invention of the penny loafer as we know it today with their introduction of the “Weejun” in 1936—a style they still make today. The name Weejun is a play on the shoe’s inspiration: Norwegian farm shoes.
