In 1997 Manitobah Mukluks was created by Métis entrepreneur, Sean McCormick. Started in Brandon, Manitoba, the company moved in 2004 to a larger facility in Winnipeg, and remained Canadian and aboriginally owned. In 2006 Hollywood discovered Manitobah Mukluks, adding to its status as a major fashion brand and increasing the demand. We now see Mukluks in magazines and on TV, most recently featured on Oprah! As Manitobah Mukluks grow they are quickly integrating their history and roots with innovation, adapting mukluks to the needs of today.
All of our Manitobah Mukluks are made with Tissavel instead of real rabbit fur. Tissavel is a genuine woven fur fabric made in France and will never lose its shape. Mukluks are also made with a vibram sole for urban life. Vibram is the world leader in high performance rubber soles, targeted to the outdoor work, recreation, fashion, repair and orthopedic markets.
